Very nice beach. It's a volcanic beach, so no sand but that is no problem to me. It is not very crowded (was here in August) but still there are some people...just enough. :) There are also life… Full review by Paradise41564206204

Disgusting mess, rubbish on the beach..building work in full force. It looks unkept and horrible. No sunbeds, a huge barrel on the beach, graffti on the wall... No not a place you want to spend time. Full review by Suzanne F

Hi, I'm travelling to Callao Salvaje at the end of august and I am wondering about the night life and selection of bars and restaurants. I believe this is a very quite resort? If it easy to travel into and back from Adeje at night for more of an atmosphere? with respect to Playa de Ajabo-would you recommend someone to be a good swimmer do use this beach?

So the actual resort itself is quite quiet, although there are a number of bars and restaurants that are open late and you can still have a good evening. However a taxi into the more lively Adeje and surrounding strips is about €15 an well worth the trip. The beach is a small inlet and safe for swimming, but very rocky and uncomfortable to walk on so I would recommend getting yourself some swimming shoes to make your life easier. It's not the prettiest of beaches but they have a great, inexpensive bar service that'll bring you drinks and sandwiches whilst you're there.
which is the nearest sandy beach suitable for young children?

I have to suggest Playa de Ajabo in Callao Salvaje. This is a lovely little coastal Village about 4 miles north from Playa de Americas . It has a very quiet sandy beach and is just is right next to the restaurant. It is so near you can ask them if they want an ice cream. The main reason for advising you of this beach restaurant it is fairly quiet. Please be aware that weekends can be a little busier with locals from the Village.
