We did not stay here, but we went with them to dive the Liberty Shipwreck and their service was amazing! They were very professional, helped us get fitted with our rental equipment, and we had a grea… Full review by Samantha B

Been to Bali many times but had never dived the wreck prior. We were diving the nearby slope early morning and noticed few bubbles so decided this was our day. Its pretty vast and spread out and suit… Full review by macfod

I'm PADI OW certified with 50 dives, half in Indonesia, and this was my first wreck dive. Wow, did Liberty exceed expectations! It's not some drab steel hulk....it's absolutely covered in coral and f… Full review by geofgivens
Hi, I want to know if this dive site is safe now with the last frequent eruptions of the Agung. We will be in Amed next week and we would like to dive there. Thanks

It is absolutely safe. Mt Agung is about 14km away from the site of the Liberty. We are in contact with people who live in Tulamben and there is no danger. Enjoy!
Im planing on traveling in may between 22nd-31st, traveling alone, do i need to book in advance or can book after i land there?

Probably better to book in advance and get the airport transfer sorted at the same time. Most places will pick you up from the airport and return you once your trip is completed. Take a look at Tulamben Wreck Divers - I've stayed there many time and really enjoy the whole experience. Mata Hari resort is another nice spot right on the water. Enjoy your trip. David
Is this location a year round dive site? I am scheduled to travel to Bali 30 DEC, 2018 - 2 Jan, 2019. I am currently PADI Open Water and Advanced Certified, would those certifications work? I am interested in doing either an afternoon dive or a possible night dive on the 30th. Is this possible? If so what is the water temp and what gear is required or recommended, I have only dived in Guam and Okinawa Islands, And normally do not wear a wet suit, would like to know if I would need to bring my 3MM wet suit. What equipment do you rent, I currently have everything but a regulator but trying to decide if I should bring my own equipment or rent.

I would say Liberty Wreck is a year round dive site, as it is a shore dive. The top of the Wreck is at around 5 meters. Water temperature when we were there was 29°c. If you would be doing a night dive a wetsuit would not be a bad idea. Tulamben is very busy, when we got to the dive site at 6am, there were divers already in the water! Afternoon would be extra crowded. I can imagine the nightdives would be great! We travel with our own dive equipment, since we also did a liveaboard in the Komodo Islands. It you would not be doing much diving and are concerned about the extra luggage weight, then rent. I would bring my own mask and computer. At least I know my mask fits me well and my own computer works. Hope this helps.
Is is possible to acces the USS liberty without dive guide? As we are advanced certified divers, we would really like to try to explore the dive site by ourselves!

Hi Nadine, Yes you can dive it without a guide...we do it often. My only reservation would be you will miss so much if you are only there for a short time...how long spending there?? My advice would be use a guide on your first dive for orientation and finding where most sea life is and then go back in on your own. Are you underwater photographers and what do you usually like to photograph?? We use Matahari Dive Resort at Tulamben and they will arrange for the porters to carry your cylinder to the site for you. The wreck varies from about 5M deep to 30M. The eel garden on the top of the wreck is worth seeing.
