How much is outside in the heat and how much is in air conditioned buildings?

The only buildings that are air conditioned as of July 2024, are the gift shop in the Main Building. All other buildings are not. Given that, it is wise in the summer to visit the second floor of buildings in the morning before it gets too hot. The single floor buildings and those that are single story stay fairly cool even in the summer.
The information can be found on their website, which I recommend since they could change the hours and days at any time. I believe they are open from 9 AM to 5 PM daily.
I'm glad Rachel K reviewed Pioneer Village so nicely, but I'd like to know if it's been cleaned up or renovated. I didn't go any farther than the admission window three years ago because all I saw was a dark dingy warehouse instead of the exhilarating historic place I was expecting.

If you left before going in, based up only the admissions area, you missed an amazing display of Americana at it best. Yes, the museum is dated, but we were overwhelmed with all the memorabilia, the hundreds of cars including every make and model, the store, the collections. Just an amazing few hours and we were blown away that in the middle of nowhere, there was such a collection of historical items. You need to give these places as chance. Ever been to the Spasm museum in Minnesota. Again, open your mind and enjoy exploring America, if not, you will miss so much of what makes our country a great place to explore.
