Redwood Highway is basically Highway 10 one as it was built to bypass the Avenue of the Giants. It's a warm modern highway than the Avenue of the Giants. While it is scenic in its own right, it does … Full review by Tommy M

Hi ... are you going past Oregon border into the state??? If you are staying along the coast stop at Patrick’s point state park in Trinidad. You can camp at this park, hike and bike. Some beautiful vistas. Of course, visit the Redwoods, hike/ walk any one of the numerous trails. You’ll be amazed.

Hi On Air, You will fly into Arcata (ACV). Other possible airports are Crescent City, Redding, or Santa Rosa. Also Medford, Oregon has good connections. You may want to fly into one and out another. Don't need to be big hikers to enjoy, but must hike. Most are level but the beauty and acoustics of the coastal redwoods must be experienced. Lady Bird Johnson, Lost Man Creek, Fern Canyon, Tall Trees - all close to each other near Orick (but need to stop at ranger station for lock combination for Tall Trees). I agree with this list 1-14, +19: search yelp for best 10 bars in Eureka. Lots of Airbnbs in town; better than hotels (mostly chains). Arcata is a college town so great place to base. My fav restaurants - Mazzotti's, Larrupin's ($$$$), Rita's Mexican, Le Monde, Brick and Fire ($$$), Salt ($$$$), Bencharong, Wildflowers (vegetarian), Phoenix. Don't miss Ramone's or Los Bagels for coffee and pastries. Let me know if you need more! Bonnie

There are 2 sections. The "Avenue of Giants starts (going north) just north of Garberville and is clearly marked. It ends just south of Scotia and is about 31 miles. The second section of redwoods starts just north of Eureka. Follow Hwy 101 to the Oregon border. For the Avenue of Giants, there is much info if you Google it. Sorry, I don't do GPS, but you CAN'T MISS IT. North of Eureka there are MANY state and national forrests. Prairie Creek is a great stop as there are often Elk around. But ANY of the parks are worth visiting.
