When we were there in September 2016, everything immediately west of the Capitol which includes the Grant memorial ( there are several different bronze statues that …
When we were there in September 2016, everything immediately west of the Capitol which includes the Grant memorial ( there are several different bronze statues that are part of that memorial), was covered up with tarps and scaffolding and barricaded off. The Washington monument had just been closed and under repair as well, we had tickets for that. We returned in July 2018 and everything at Grants memorial had been completed, it is beautiful and a must see location, by the way, the Washington monument is still closed and under repair.
