Hmmm that’s a long drive if you are not living on the area, to go there just to buy a souvenir is not ideal there are lots of souvenir shops around and they all carry the same stuffs, although I must admit I only gave in to a painting that I saw in Karen Blixen. To answer your question I am not sure as No one drives there just to shop but I suppose you can ask the ticket booth that you only want to visit the shop?.

No one was painting on the porch the day we visited. Have you contacted the museum and asked for the information you want? I’m sure they would know who is painting there.

We paid is shillings. As to whether they took USD I’m not sure as it wasn’t something we needed to do. I would recommend exchanging money when you get to Kenya as it’s much easier to pay for things. We also found that people preferred being paid in shillings instead of USD.
