Visited the Perth zoo this morning and I must say I was disappointed with the lack of variety of animals. A new playground and upmarket restaurant was nice but feel this money could have been used to… Full review by Robyn D

Took advantage of the free zoo ticket initiative of state govt (thank you!) to spend a morning at the zoo. We were worried about it being crowded due to increased patronage and having parking problem… Full review by LMCM111

As far as I know, you cannot hold the koalas, but there is nothing stopping you from taking pictures of them.

Yes there is a cafe and restaurant but I would take a picnic as there are so many places to sit and enjoy the sunshine.

It all depends. If yu have ab child that loves a close encounters of wild life then I would recommend Caversham. Here they would have more kangaros, wallabyd and koalas than the zoo. While Perth Zoo offers more varieties of animals, although u may not have a chance to have such a close encounters. Furthermore the Perth zoo are much nearer to the Perth city.
