Given the magnitude of other historic sites when visiting Egypt, this one is definitely more understated. The site doesn't take much time to visit, but if you're truly into your history, it's just as… Full review by Debbie G

Interesting site. You need roughly 30 minutes to see the whole thing. Tickets are 200 egp. Toilets available by the exit. I don’t think the guide is necessary. Do your own research beforehand. Full review by E5638TVcucoriedka

Hello Sanyukta, Thanks for the review of the unfinished obelisk. I was wondering if it would be possible to obtain a stone from this quarry. Was there extensive security or did they require bag inspections/have signs posted regarding this. I want to make a 1 foot sculpture out of the same granite used for the obelisk. I would imagine there are loose stones around but I would not want to take one if there is a sign saying not to. Thanks

It’s an ancient historical site hence well guarded and protected by necessary equipment’s and personals. I would imagine with the help of local guides you can find queries around aswan but not at the site of unfinished obelisk, were they have similar type of granite which you can use for your sculpture. On a serious note we should preserve ancient places and not use anything from their for our own dreams.
