Delvecchio was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1977 and was later named one of the 100 greatest players in league history.

Detroit Red Wings legend Alex Delvecchio died on Tuesday, July 1, at 93 years old. The Hall-of-Famer played all 24 of his NHL seasons (1950-74) with the Red Wings, playing in 1,550 games, winning three Stanley Cups and three Lady Byng Memorial Trophies during his career.

He never won a scoring championship or a Hart Trophy. He was never named a first-team all-star. And he never garnered huge headlines.
