A Maryland company has recalled some cucumbers and salsa made with cucumbers for potential risk of salmonella contamination.

Salmonella outbreaks linked to cucumbers have sickened hundreds of people since last year, drawing attention to the problem of contaminated irrigation water on farms.

Twenty-six people from 15 states have gotten sick from the same strain of Salmonella linked to whole cucumbers. Nine of these people have been hospitalized.
