Pettis Norman, a Dallas Cowboys tight end who was outspoken on issues of civil rights in the 1960s, has died. He was 86.

Norman was also a successful entrepreneur, real estate investor and restaurant franchisee after his 12-year playing career.

Turpin, 28, was booked and charged initially with two misdemeanors: possession of marijuana (less than two ounces) and unlawful carrying of a weapon. Turpin was released from Collin County Jail on Sunday. The Dallas Cowboys did not have a statement on the arrest.
