Due to an unexpected change in the dry dock schedule for the Disney Fantasy, Disney Cruise Line canceled multiple fall 2025 sailings on the ship. The cruise line canceled four Disney Fantasy voyages that were scheduled to depart between Oct. 20 and Nov. 12, 2025, according to Disney Cruise Line Blog.

The cruise line has revealed it will be building a fourth Wish-class ship, a sister ship to the Wish, Treasure and Destiny, plus three smaller ships to join the fleet.

The Disney Treasure, the latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, set sail on its maiden voyage last month and Dave Monk was on board.

Similarly, Royal Caribbean has alluded to plans for a smaller class of ships to replace some of its aging vessels. Since 2023, Royal Caribbean's top executives have been suggesting that their team has a smaller class of ships in development called the Discovery class.
