Animal campaigners are calling for a ban on the public sale of fireworks after Roxie the baby red panda was thought to have died from stress related to the noise.

A baby red panda has been literally scared to death by fireworks being set off near her home at Edinburgh Zoo, according to conservationists.

The baby panda was born on July 17 to her parents, Bruce and Ginger - who also died five days earlier at the zoo, which is suspected to be due to distress from fireworks too.
