JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced Monday that hospitals across the state will receive a major investment in pediatric cancer research.

United States will hold statewide and local elections on November 4 including Governor races in Virginia and New Jersey, multiple Mayoral contests, and several special Congressional elections. The results are expected to offer early signals about voter sentiment ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Florida House Minority Leader Fentrice Driskell (D-Tampa) also expressed concern about the record-setting pace of executions. She noted Florida leads the nation with 30 death row exonerations, two of which happened during DeSantis’ tenure.
