A widespread storm system that moved quickly across Central Florida on Monday morning spawned a powerful tornado near Lake Mary that leveled most of a house, damaged roofs, toppled trees and left hundreds of residents without power.

A television meteorologist broadcast live on the air as a tornado hit his station's studio in Lake Mary, Florida, near Orlando. The meteorologist, Brooks Garner, warned employees to take shelter.
