Police have made an arrest and are searching for another suspect in reference to a number of sexual assault cases that happened in Houston’s north side.

Police have arrested a man who they allege is responsible for two of five sexual assaults recently reported at several north Houston apartment complexes, Houston Police Department officials announced in a Wednesday news conference.

The Houston Police Department says one suspect was arrested and there is a possible second suspect involved in a series of sexual assaults in northwest Houston.

Houston police say an accused serial rapist is in custody and a manhunt is underway for a second suspect. Investigators say two men are responsible for a total of five sexual assaults between August and last week.

A community is on edge as Houston police are still hunting for a serial rapist targeting women in northwest Houston.
