A 23-year-old man has died following an officer-involved shooting on Saturday night at an Huntsville restaurant, the Madison County coroner has confirmed.

An arrest has been made in connection to a Saturday deadly shooting at Twin Peaks in Huntsville, officials say. The Huntsville Police Department said the shooting at the popular restaurant did involve an off-duty officer.

A 21-year-old man faces murder charges in a Saturday night shooting at a Huntsville restaurant that left one dead and two injured. Jeremiah Matkins of Huntsville was arrested and charged with murder in the death of Ray’shun Markelle Bates, 23, of Decatur, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said Sunday.

Four people were injured in an off-duty officer-involved shooting that took place at Twin Peaks Saturday night.

According to Don Webster with HEMSI, the shooting happened on the 5900 block of University Drive just before 10 p.m. Saturday. Webster says all four people injured were taken to Huntsville Hospital Trauma Center for treatment. One person is listed in critical condition. The conditions of the three others are still being assessed at this time.
