CLEVELAND, Ohio — If governor Mike DeWine’s nomination of former OSU football coach, Jim Tressel, for lieutenant governor is confirmed by the Ohio General Assembly, Tressel will catch a political football and fill in for Jon Husted. Husted moved to the U.S. Senate seat left vacant by J.D. Vance, who is now serving as Donald Trump’s vice president.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced Monday morning that he has picked former Ohio State coach and college administrator Jim Tressel to serve as lieutenant governor for the remaining two years of DeWine's term.
