Franchise cornerstones including Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Lavonte David, Vita Vea, Tristan Wirfs, Antoine Winfield Jr. and Jamel Dean were all drafted by the Bucs, and each of them made the decision to re-sign with Tampa Bay — several of them on multiple occasions — despite significant interest from practically every other team in the league.

The Bucs need to plan for what comes after Lavonte David because despite his return, linebacker remains an issue.

A familiar face is staying with Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers have come to terms on a one-year deal with former All-Pro linebacker Lavonte David. According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jonathan Jones, it's a one-year, $10 million deal with $9 million guaranteed.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers wanted Lavonte David back and he wanted to come back, and the two sides got it done. David re-signed with the Buccaneers on Thursday, priming him for his 14th season in the NFL — all with the Buccaneers.

After signing a one-year deal last week, Lavonte David is set to return for his 14th season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Lavonte David, with 36 words on Instagram, announced Friday night that he will return for a 14th season with the Bucs. “I love the game too much to give it up just yet,” David wrote. ”Good Lord blessing me with another opportunity so I figured I should take advantage of it! Tampa, I’m not done yet! See you soon!"
