Lego’s returning to Cybertron for its latest big set, but with a twist: after giving us the Autobot leader Optimus Prime and one of his most loyal soldiers in Bumblebee over the past few years, now it’s finally the turn of the Decepticons to get their brick-based glory. Except it’s not who you might have expected to get that early honor.

The 1,505-piece Soundwave set includes sound effects and Ravage and Laserbeak cassettes.

The newest addition to the Transformers line of LEGO Icons is Soundwave, the G1 Decepticon who transformed into a cassette player.

If you're wondering where the rest of the Avengers are, Lego turned Avengers: Endgame's final battle into several sets, but this is by far the coolest. At 30cm tall, it features minifigures of Captain Marvel, Okoye, Wanda Maximoff, Shuri, Valkyrie, The Wasp and an extra chunky Thanos.

Listen, I know that Lego is making a Pikachu set next year. I'm very excited about it. If other gaming kits are anything to go by, it'll be brilliant and (unfortunately) super effective on our bank balances. But it's already got competition, because this Mega model is... well, it's impressive.
