Major changes could be coming to Arizona’s health care funding after House Republicans approved President Donald Trump’s legislative package, officially titled the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill."

After weeks of intraparty fighting, House Republicans passed the reconciliation package that addresses President Donald Trump’s fiscal agenda in a largely party line 215-214 vote early Thursday morning. Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Warren Davidson (R-OH) voted against the bill, joining all Democrats in opposing the package.

It would impose work requirements for low-income adults to receive Medicaid health insurance and increase them for food assistance as well as cut funding for services like birth control to the nation’s biggest abortion provider. Supporters of the bill say the moves will save money, root out waste and encourage personal responsibility.

The bill is part of a broader effort to curb waste and fraud in the program, which provides health coverage to more than 1.8 million low-income Louisianans.
