The Sparks, three games outside of the WNBA’s final playoff spot nearing the midway point of the season, host first-place Minnesota on Thursday afternoon.

MINNEAPOLIS — Napheesa Collier scored 22 points and the Minnesota Lynx topped the Golden State Valkyries 82-71 on Saturday night. The Valkyrie took a 56-54 lead in the middle of the third quarter with a 10-0 run that started with a pair of 3-pointers by Tiffany Hayes but the Lynx closed with a 15-4 run to take a 69-60 lead into the fourth quarter.

Napheesa Collier credited the Minnesota Lynx’s poise and focus in their 82–71 win over the Golden State Valkyries.

Out of nowhere, Clark and Collier traded All-Star Game coaches during the broadcast. Clark swapped Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve with Collier for New York Liberty coach Sandy Brondello. That way, Collier could keep her Minnesota coach and Clark in turn got the chance to play for the title-winning Liberty coach.

After it was announced she was picked by the Lynx star on Tuesday night in the WNBA All-Star Game draft, Reese went to X to share her excitement for joining Team Collier, which will take on the squad selected by the Fever’s Caitlin Clark.
