A Wisconsin meteorologist was live on the air warning people about a tornado when he realized the storm was headed straight to his mother's house.
It's not every day you see one of the most violent tornadoes in recent history and a historic flash flood happen just over 100 miles apart. But that was the case in Wisconsin and Illinois in July 1996.
A tornado hit Dane County, WI, moving NE at 30 mph from Mazomanie to Sauk City. Monticello and Prairie du Sac are also under threat, per NWS.
