Indian benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty 50 rebounded from early losses on Friday, closing higher due to gains in banking and metal stocks. The Sensex rose 218 points to 81,224, while the Nifty climbed 104 points to 24,

Axis Bank, Wipro, Eicher Motors, ICICI Bank, and Shriram Finance were among the top gainers on the Nifty index. Infosys, Britannia, Asian Paints, and Tech Mahindra were among the top losers.

The S P BSE Sensex was down 400.17 points to 80,606.44 at 10:12 am, while the NSE Nifty50 declined 96.85 points to trade at 24,653.
