Revellers, dancers and musicians filled the streets of west London on Monday for the annual Notting Hill carnival, one of the world's largest street parties that, despite its cultural prominence, has struggled with funding challenges.

The Notting Hill Carnival, an enormous celebration of Caribbean culture, is widely recognised to be the largest street party of its kind in Europe. This year, an estimated two million people joined the festivities in west London.
