Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie are returning to the realm of underground luxury sales. The "Uncut Gems" filmmakers are set to executive produce Peacock series "Superfakes," which centers on a small-time Chinatown luxury-counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.

The NBCUniversal-owned streamer has ordered a crime drama called Superfakes from writer and showrunner Alice Ju ( Poker Face, Beef ). Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie ( Uncut Gems) are also among the executive producers; A24 and Universal Studio Group’s UCP are producing.

Peacock has given out a series order to a crime drama currently titled “Superfakes,” Variety has learned. The series hails from creator Alice Ju, who will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner.
