Measurable rainfall in Phoenix stops us just shy of dry-streak record
The last time we got rain was Aug. 22, 2024. That makes 2024/2025 the second-longest dry streak in Phoenix's recorded history. The longest dry streak ran from Dec. 30, 1971 to June 6, 1972 — just a tiny bit longer than this past one.

Metro Phoenix continued to see showers pass through the area on Tuesday morning. Here's how much rain fell and what weather to expect for the week.
Arizona weather forecast: Rain in the forecast on Monday in Phoenix
While 1–3 inches of snow may fall in Flagstaff through midnight, a total of 4–8 inches could collect in the area by the end of the week. Arizona Snowbowl may see 6–12 inches by the end of the week, with 3–6 inches possible over Sunrise Park. Depending on the speed of the storm system, these totals may shift a bit.
Dry streak ends in Phoenix, warmer weekend ahead
We are expecting plenty of sunshine starting Thursday through Sunday and temperatures will warm up in the lower 80s to end the weekend. Next week for the WM Phoenix Open, we are expecting even warmer temperatures and dry conditions. Highs will get up in the mid-80s on Monday and Tuesday, which is well above average for this time of year.
Morning drizzle ends a 159-day dry streak in Phoenix, one day shy of the record
This marks the end of the second-longest dry period in Phoenix on record, just one day shy of breaking the longest record. The current record was set in 1972 with 160 days without measurable rain.

Throughout the day on Jan. 29, there will be light, scattered rain and snow showers across Arizona. The showers will be mostly focused over north-central parts of the state, including parts of Coconino, Yavapai, Gila and Navajo Counties.
