Boston Red Sox fans won't like the latest update on Roki Sasaki as the Japanese pitcher nears his free agency decision.

Feb. 10. Less than a month!  And yet, a good number of free agents remain. On our free agent tracker, three of the top eight are still unsigned. We could extend that out to five of the top 12, seven of the top 15 or 23 of the top 50.

Roki Sasaki has reportedly eliminated four teams from consideration as international signing period opens this week.

Sasaki’s team, the Chiba Lotte Marines, officially “posted” him on December 9, 2024, which allowed MLB teams to start negotiations. Because of his age, Sasaki is subject to international bonus pool restrictions and can only sign a minor-league contract.

Roki Sasaki, 23, a standout Japanese starting pitcher, will not be joining the Yankees' stacked rotation. He also will not join the Mets.
