MUMBAI, India (AP) — Indian Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was stabbed in a scuffle with an intruder at his home early Thursday and underwent surgery at a hospital, media reports said.

Actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed and, after criticism from opposition leaders and some in the film industry, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has responded. Fadnavis, who is also in charge of home affairs, called the incident unfortunate. However, he stated that it’s not right to say Mumbai is unsafe because of this event.
