For the first time in program history, the South Carolina Gamecocks hosted an NCAA Super Regional. They played against the UCLA Bruins in the first game of their best of three series. In the bottom of the first inning,

The No. 8 seed Gamecocks beat No. 9 UCLA 9-2 on Friday in game one of the NCAA Tournament super regional series. Head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard and her team earned the victory in front of a sold-out crowd at Carolina Softball Stadium.

The Gamecocks jump out to 5-0 lead at home and cruise to a 9-2 victory, pushing UCLA to an elimination game on Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.
