Just before the Trump-Vance administration's federal funding freeze was set to go live, it was blocked by US District Judge Loren AliKhan. The federal court order prevents the White House from pausing funds that were already scheduled to be disbursed but allows the administration to freeze new funding.

The Trump administration has paused federal grants and loans to review agency programs and determine the best uses of funding for programs consistent with the law and Trump's priorities, Reuters reported. Agencies are required to identify legally mandated actions or assistance programs before completing an analysis.

The Trump admin's federal funding freeze will not impact individual assistance going directly to Americans, Karoline Leavitt said during her first press briefing.
