A Ukrainian official says Kyiv has agreed to the terms of a deal which would give the US access to mineral deposits.

Ukraine’s trove of rare earths and other critical minerals is firmly in the spotlight ahead of a contentious potential deal that would include U.S. access to the war-torn nation’s valuable natural resources.

A copy of the agreement obtained by The New York Times says that the United States “supports Ukraine’s effort to obtain security guarantees needed to establish lasting peace.”
