The Miami Dolphins are set to draft in the top half of the first round for the first time since 2021 after finishing outside the playoff bracket with an 8-9 record. In addition to the seven picks they own in the 2025 NFL draft,

We're talking about the draft later than usual, but much sooner than anyone expected this year, now that we know where the Lions will pick in Round 1.

There are also special compensatory picks awarded via the NFL’s initiative to promote racial diversity in hiring. The newly awarded picks that qualify are not yet set for 2025, but the 49ers do have one carrying over from 2024 that is already set. A maximum of 32 regular compensatory picks are awarded. These picks can be traded.

ESPN’s draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. released his first mock for the 2025 draft on Wednesday, predicting the first round of picks only ahead of the April 24 draft. It’s loaded with Wolverines. Kiper listed four Michigan players among the top 32 picks, the most of any school.
