The U.S. Navy has awarded BAE Systems over $70 million to upgrade Mk 45 5-inch naval gun systems and ancillary equipment.
BAE Systems has been awarded a £285m contract to support the Royal Navy’s Shared Infrastructure, CMS and warship networks.
The company will extend the barrel of the Mk 45, strengthen the gun mounts and incorporate a fully digital control system.
