An online ticketing system targeting long distance passenger bus companies promises to cut cost by at least 10 per cent as travellers turn themselves into booking agents.

The Plan-A-Ride system began last November by converting one hour of service on Sundays to a reservation system and has saved money by using fewer buses during off peak hours.
