When I reached the credits of Echoes of Wisdom, I thought back fondly on Zelda's adventure, only to realize just how badly she was treated at the end of her story. We break that down and pose how it could have been handled better.

It's kind of crazy that, despite having her name in the title, Princess Zelda has never actually been the star of her own Legend of Zelda game. Routinely relegated to the damsel in distress, even when she plays a pivotal role in the narrative,

Zelda may be the leading protagonist of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, but she hasn't been able to overshadow Link entirely due to one of the game's most powerful mechanics. Specifically, Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom 's Swordfighter Form effectively brings Link into the picture, despite attempts by Grezzo and Nintendo to leave him out.
