Microsoft has made PostgreSQL 17 generally available on Azure Database for PostgreSQL Flexible Server. It has also enabled in-place upgrades to improve the experience.

With the release of version 8, the venerable open-source database now runs on Windows, widening its appeal to corporate customers.
