Maine is among 20 states suing the Federal Emergency Management Agency over its decision to shut down a major disaster preparedness grant program. The lawsuit accuses FEMA of unlawfully eliminating the program,

FEMA announced in April that it was ending the funding to eliminate “waste, fraud and abuse.” The program saved taxpayers more than $150 billion over 20 years, the plaintiffs said.
