Amazon Fire tablets run an Android-fork called FireOS with its own, limited, app store. Fortunately, you can install the Google Play Store.

Do not grant permissions to an app that it should not need: torches and star-gazing apps don’t need access to your contacts and phone. According to the Google Play Store refund policy, you can request a refund for apps and in-app purchases within 48 hours of your purchase. E-books, audiobooks, movies, and TV shows can be refunded within seven days if you didn't download or watch the content.

The malware was spotted circulating via apps called 'Wuta Camera' and 'Max Browser' on the Google Play Store, according to Kaspersky.
