A tropical system in the Caribbean Sea could develop as it moves northward into the Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center says.

Meteorologists are watching an amalgamation of storms that could turn into a tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico over the next seven days.

Hurricane forecasters continue to monitor a broad area of low pressure in the Caribbean Sea and two low-pressure systems stirring in the Atlantic Ocean, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
