An Israeli military leader has issued a new threat to Lebanon, saying it is time for the country "to suffer as well." Tensions are escalating between Israel and Lebanon, after Hezbollah suffered two unprecedented attacks in which pagers and walkie-talkies used by the militant group exploded near-simultaneously on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant did say on Wednesday, however, that his country's war with Iran's so-called proxy groups in the region had entered a "new phase," announcing a shift to the north of Israel after 11 months of intense conflict with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

Approximately 130 rockets were fired from southern Lebanon into northern Israel on Friday morning, causing power outages in several areas.
