os.path.join (folder, filename) ensures the path is correct for the system. On Windows, it uses backslashes (reports\summary.txt); on Linux and macOS it uses forward slashes (reports/summary.txt).

Any one every try to make an OS bootable off of a CD? I'm not talking about DOS. It would at least have to have a GUI like Win3.1. The reason why I want to make one is for diagnostic purposes ...
