Malnutrition is the world's worst child health crisis and climate change will only make things more severe, according to Microsoft-co-founder turned philanthropist Bill Gates.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is focusing on the need to invest in global health in its 2024 Goalkeepers Report.

(The foundation still is in the process of changing its name to the Gates Foundation and naming Bill sole chair since Melinda stepped down from the organization in June). The focus comes amid declining aid, and rising health problems exacerbated by a lack of nutritional food.

In 2023, the World Health Organization estimated that 148 million children experienced stunted growth and 45 million suffered from wasting

Bill Gates joins the program to discuss stalling progress on global public health initiatives, as well as opportunities for investment.

Ensuring the world’s children have enough nutritious food is critical for economic and social success, says Gates.
