A powerful 'bomb cyclone' storm is set to bring strong winds, travel disruptions, and power outages to New York and the East Coast.

A winter weather advisory is in effect for parts of the Tri-State area starting at 10 a.m., though New York City, Long Island and other coastal areas are not included.
