Police said a male student shot two people at the high school on Wednesday morning before turning the gun on himself.

Protestors called for lawmakers to take up gun safety measures, but the Republican supermajority has continually refused to do so.

An AI gun detection system installed in a Nashville, Tennessee high school couldn’t spot the gun a 17-year-old used to fatally shoot another student and himself earlier this week, according to district officials.
