The mayor of the San Francisco Bay Area city of Oakland is out after just two years in office. The Associated Press has called the race Monday.

The Associated Press on Monday called the recall races for both Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao and Alameda County District Attorney Pamela Price with voters ousting both officials.

It was my goal to make Oakland safer, cleaner, and more vibrant,” Thao said in a statement. “And I am proud of what we accomplished together.”
