A shambolic 4-1 defeat to Sweden did not stop Germany from qualifying for the Euro 2025 knockouts. But it further revealed a number of significant issues that coach Christian Wück must address quickly.
Jule Brand had put Germany ahead early on before Stina Blackstenius levelled and the teenage full-back Smilla Holmberg gave Sweden the lead. Nathalie Bjorn, Sweden. In a rotated defence, Bjorn was excellent against Poland, keeping Ewa Pajor quiet and pushing up to press and win the ball high. Only Sweden have yet to concede a goal at Euro 2025.
Lauren Hemp has vowed England won’t be complacent against Wales and said the Lionesses are treating the Euro 2025 clash as a “derby” as the holders look to advance to the quarter-finals.
