If you're between 15 and 17 years old and live in Florida, get ready: starting July 1, 2025, you'll need to complete a new mandatory course to obtain your learner’s license.

After earning a learner's permit, teens must then complete 50 hours of on-the-road practice with adults 21 and older and have the permit for a year before they can test for a driver's license.

Currently, drivers must demonstrate 14 maneuvers to pass the test, which Bowe believes are too basic for Florida's busy roads, like I-4, the 408, or John Young Parkway.
