The Nifty 50 index opened with a marginal gain of 0.22 per cent or 56.10 points at 25,027.40 points, while the BSE Sensex index opened with a gain of 0.31 per cent at 81,758.07 points, gaining 256.71 points.

The trends on Gift Nifty also indicate a muted start for the Indian benchmark index. The Gift Nifty was trading around 25,025 level, a discount of nearly 10 points from the Nifty futures’ previous close.

The Indian market may consolidate on Thursday. Nifty faces resistance at 25,000 zones. It is expected to trade between 24,500 to 25,500 levels. Analysts recommend specific stocks for short-term gains.
