Springfield detectives are investigating after skimmers were located by an employee or retrieved by a suspect inside convenience stores over the weekend.

Skimming devices were found at Royal Farms locations in Collegeville, Montgomery County, and Marple Township, Delaware County, in the past several days. Marple Township police said an "illegal electronic skimmer" was discovered at a cash register at the store on West Chester Pike.

At this point, police in all six townships are still trying to figure out exactly when the devices were installed, but are urging anyone who visited the stores to monitor their card activity.

Royal Farms shoppers in Montgomery and Delaware counties are encouraged to check their bank statements after card skimmers were found at multiple locations.
